Own your past
My mother decided not to put up her big tree this year, so she passed down to us some of the ornaments from my story, my history, my places in time - ornaments from Germany and from Sri Lanka because I lived in those places, for example.
And then there were The Photo Ornaments.
I'm, um...well, I'm speechless at the sheer, magnificent, overwhelming beauty of it all.
I'm going to own my past, those stretchy pants with the seams down the front, the bright yellow jumpsuit with the high waist, those bangs that sweep to eternity like a wave on the ocean, my bug glasses, those Peter Max hot pants, the satin and pearls. It is all me.
Happy holidays from Big Red.
Happy Holidays Patti!
Thanks for a wonderful and inspiring year!

my parents have quite a collection of those old ornaments, too. some of them i haven't seen in years! what fun to get those from your mom and share them with your girls. i hope you had a great eve and day, and have a very happy new year as well.

You're a braver woman than me... ;) Although all I have to do to own mine is to visit my folks' house...their hallway is lined with framed photos, including all of our high school graduation ones (shudder). I knew that's when I really loved J...the first time he visited there with me...and I didn't run down the hall first to grab that sucker off the wall. :)

Those are pretty spectacular ornaments. Glad she thought to pass them onto you.
