Need? or Want?

Elvis_blues I wonder if this is a clear enough message for Mr Brilliant as he contemplates just what on this planet he will buy or do for my last birthday in my 40s, which will take place soon on the anniversary of Elvis' death (WHAT? YOU DON'T HAVE THAT DATE ETCHED IN FIRE ON YOUR FOREHEAD?):

I want. Or does this qualify as need?

Smile.

Maybe that's a tad too much to spend, what with college tuition and buying gas to get to the Piggly Wiggly STARING US IN THE FACE. After all, I'll turn 49 again, I'm sure. No need to go overboard. How about this, instead? Or this? This? or That adorable one? Or this? Okay, so I can't imagine wearing that last dress, but I love the idea of it and wouldn't it be perfect to wear to the Tiny Ninja Turtles doing Hamlet?

I think since it was so lovingly restored and this is day 1, and given that it matches the blog and book color schemes so closely, this is a need and not a want.

So looking forward to April!

You share a birthday with my eldest daughter! And, for the record, I love that scooter!

I say go for the scooter! It's fabulous! Hope you have a wonderful birthday.

After you're book reaches the top of the Times ' bestseller list, the scooter won't be large enough unless you add a side-car or two. No silly, I'm *not* talking about your ego! I'm talking about you and your entourage.

Also, you are planning to hire a driver once you become more famous, right?

I absolutely must, I absolutely need to see a picture of you on that scooter. NEED. And that's that.

Well, Johnny D would certainly get you the Vespa.

I'm stunned to see you that you left off the dream list the very Airstream, the cute little pocket-sized Airstream which would get a family of four and a doggie all around the country in only a matter of six weeks or so, Patti.

Oh, well. You can always trundle around the entire Southeastern part of the country on your Vespa, and be home only hours after your signing/reading appearance!

Maxine - I really LOVE the way you think! (looking forward to having you at the April retreat!)

Kim - I share a birthday with my eldest daughter, too!

Kelly - thanks for the vote!

Allan - You made me laugh! I've got the best entourage in the world already - Mr B, Emma and Tess (and Blue, the dog)! I do like that "bestseller" vision you had, though. Hold that thought!

Karen - I think you're right. Need.

Sally K - Truer words were never spoken. (You made me LAUGH OUT LOUD. I think there was a snort involved)

Rick - I think the Airstream just absolutely goes without saying. Doesn't it? (smile)

Oh, crapola. This seems to make me the Johnny that I don't want to be: Johnny-on-the-Spot.

Give it a rest,Johnny! We have already heard about your past exploits in gifting, as Patti has long since clued us in. Of course, given your reputation, I guess it could be daunting trying to keep up...with you!

Get the Airstream!

Here, let me help. Your list isn't quite large enough yet.

Three words:
wood
opal
ring

Or, have you acquired it and I missed that post?

John Ptak - never mind what they say. It's not true about all those other Johnnys (Appleseed, Unitas, Cash, Depp). Only one Johnny for me, and never put on the spot. You'll do what's fair and equitable (subliminal: Airstream, Vespa, wood opal ring, VW convertible bug, massage gift certificate for life, iPhone, getting the driver's side window fixed in the car, the complete works of you-know-who) - I know you will. ;-)

Betsy - you're good. you're very, very good. how the heck did you remember that? I had to give up that dream...alas.
